Our Mission Statement

At the Bow Valley Christmas Spirit Campaign, we believe Christmas is a time for dignity, compassion, and caring for community. We also believe in contributing to the long term sustainability of food security which will ensure that people have access to healthy, nutritious food all year long, not just at Christmas.

Our Story

The Bow Valley Christmas Campaign (BVCSC) is a non-profit organization that was established in 1997 by a volunteer committee. Initially, the organization started as a food drive, collecting and sorting hundreds of pounds of donated food and toys to distribute into boxes and hand deliver to families in need. Over the years, the organization evolved to provide gift cards for both food and toys to allow people the dignity to purchase their own gifts and food at Christmas.

In 2012, the Bow Valley Elves program was started as an avenue to allow high school students to mingle with the seniors to distribute individually requested gifts to the seniors in the lodge. This proved to be a roaring success, quickly expanded, and prompted the Elves to join with BVCS. Since 2014, Bow Valley Elves and BVCS have been operating together.

At our organization, we take pride in the fact that hundreds of families have been able to experience the joy of the holiday season thanks to the generosity of this community.

We firmly believe that Christmas wishes can come true, and we are committed to making that a reality for as many as possible.

Join us in spreading the holiday spirit and making a difference in the lives of those in need.
